I have been dreaming of this canvas for a couple of weeks now. I must admit that the dream was on a much bigger scale. I tell myself that there are no mistakes in art, I tell this to my girls and to my customers, I tell it because I believe it. But when it comes right down to it I scaled my project down to a quarter of the size just in case it didn't work out. When it started coming together I was disappointed in myself for chickening out and scaling it down because I absolutely love the way it turned out. Were there problems and mistakes along the way ? Yes, I did have some issues with elements of it but none that would make a difference in the end because they can all be corrected along the way.
This canvas was inspired by a work by Christy Tomlinson. I love her art style and she gets me excited about creating and not being worries about those mistakes or being messy. She is truly my art idol. She doesn't even know I exist, I'm thankful that she's a part of my life.
Here is what I came up with, I called it Seize the Day. I say this to my girls all the time. I want them to be happy and carefree and I want them to enjoy every moment of their lives, document their memories with photo's and words. I want to inspire them to create what ever inspires them.
Stop in at the studio and check it out. I just hung it up on the wall and love it even more than on my workspace. This one will some day end up in Rebecca's room.
